What to Expect
Aikido is a harmonizing martial art, there is no physical contact that involves hitting or kicking an opponent. There is no competition or sparing involved.

What to Bring and Wear
Please wear loose and comfortable clothes to start with (eg shirt and track pants) no jewelery . You may wish to purchase a Gi as your training progresses (which Sensei Mark can arrange). Bring a water bottle.

Who can train?
Adults classes can be joined by anyone from the age of 16+ and on (Younger students are assessed on a case by case basis and may start before 16, also if a student has processed through the Aiki Kids to 4 Kyu they can join the Adults). The elderly are encouraged to participate. No particular level of fitness is necessary; you will train to your own capacity. Fitness will naturally increase as your training progresses. Classes for children have not commenced. Please contact us to submit an expression of interest.

When can you start training?
You are welcome to start your training at any time.

Sign up and Membership Fees:
There is some sign up paperwork asking about if there is any medical conditions etc.  A student code of conduct.  A small annual fee is charged of $20 per adult and $10 per child (18 years and younger) in order to become a member of our non profit community organisation. This money is primary used to fund the Club’s insurance policy.

Training costs

Adult Fees $15 per class casual rate.

Children’s classes are $5 per class (Parents or Guardians are encouraged to come on the mat and there is no cost to do so.)

Cash on the night and pay prior to class commencing.
